ISP Proxies for Sneaker Sites
Static ISP addresses give low latency and a consistent identity on drop sites. Here is where that beats mobile, and where the burn risk makes it a bad bet.

Sneaker and ticket releases reward two things: trust and speed. Mobile proxies maximise the first, datacenter proxies maximise the second but rarely pass the first, and ISP proxies sit in an interesting middle: consumer-registered addresses hosted on fast, stable infrastructure.
That combination solves a real problem on some sites. It is not a universal answer.
Why ISP proxies are attractive here
The ASN looks residential. The address is registered to a consumer internet provider, so a target that classifies hosting ranges does not immediately reject it. That is the property shared with residential proxies, described in ISP Proxies vs Residential Proxies.
Latency is low and consistent. The connection terminates on server hardware with a stable route, so there is none of the variability of a consumer line or a carrier network. On a drop where seconds matter, that consistency is valuable.
The address is stable. Monitoring a target over days from the same address produces comparable observations, and a session that holds is one less thing to go wrong. The operational notes are in Static ISP Proxies for Long-Running Sessions.
Where ISP proxies beat mobile
Monitoring. Watching for restocks, price changes or early access requires many requests over time, and it does not need maximum trust. An ISP address handles it at a fraction of the mobile cost.
Latency-critical steps on sites that accept them. If a site does not have a strong carrier bias and the barrier is response time, ISP is the better tool than mobile.
Long observation windows. A stable address makes week-over-week comparison meaningful, which a rotating pool does not.
Where mobile still wins
Sites with a strong carrier bias. Some drop sites are optimised for and expect mobile traffic, and treat anything else as suspect. No amount of ISP speed helps if the request is not eligible.

Mobile-biased flows. If the release or the queue behaves differently for mobile clients, the network identity is part of getting the correct path through the flow.
The burn risk in this context
This is the argument against relying on ISP proxies for drops.
A static address accumulates history. Use it against a drop site repeatedly and it becomes recognisable, particularly because drop sites are small ecosystems where operators reuse the same infrastructure. Once flagged, the address is worth little, and unlike a rotating pool you cannot move to the next one automatically.
A rotating residential or mobile pool spreads that risk across many addresses, so a bad outcome costs a fraction of your capacity.
Practical implications:
- Give each ISP address a purpose. One site or one account, not a general-purpose address to reuse everywhere.
- Keep request volume modest. A single address making a large number of requests to one site is a legible pattern.
- Watch the success rate per address. A degrading address is a warning, and the signals are listed in Avoiding Residential IP Reuse and Burnout.
- Do not rely on one address for a drop you care about. Have a fallback identity available.

Testing the site's bias
Do not generalise from other operators. Drop sites change defences frequently, and what works on one is not predictive of another.
Run a rehearsal on a non-critical release or a restock with identical clients across ISP, residential and mobile endpoints. Record acceptance at each step and total time. The proxy checker confirms the exit IP and added latency for each endpoint, and IP lookup verifies the network type you received.
If ISP gets through the full flow at a competitive speed, it is the right choice and much cheaper. If it stalls at the checkout while mobile completes, you have measured exactly where the premium belongs.
Setting expectations
