What people use Amazon proxies for
Amazon runs a separate storefront per country, with its own catalogue, currency, pricing and review pool. The marketplace you reach is decided by the domain and the address together, and the two have to agree.
It is also one of the more tightly defended retail targets: a hosting address is refused quickly, and a consumer address on a badly paced run follows soon after.
- Track price and stock on a specific storefront rather than a mixture.
- Collect review counts and ratings for a market.
- Compare the same product's price across two countries.
Why Amazon answers differently from a hosting address
What makes it awkward
Amazon's page weight is large and its markup changes often, so a run that fetches full pages pays for data it discards and breaks when the layout shifts. Target the fields you need.
Where the location changes the answer
Country targeting picks the storefront; the domain should match it. City-level targeting rarely changes a listing, so it mostly adds risk.
Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.
How to route Amazon through a proxy
Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.
- 1
Generate an endpoint
Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.
- 2
Point Amazon traffic at it
Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.
- 3
Verify the exit before you trust the data
Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your Amazon request.
Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
