What people use Google proxies for

Google localises nearly everything: results, suggestions, the knowledge panel, even the wording of a result title. A rank check from the wrong country measures a page nobody in the target market sees.

It also treats hosted addresses as automated, so a datacenter check produces either a block or a result set shaped by the challenge rather than by the query.

  • Track rankings from the country, region or city a page is meant to serve.
  • Read SERP features and competitor positions as a local user sees them.
  • Collect autocomplete suggestions for a market.
The network is the variable

Why Google answers differently from a hosting address

What makes it awkward

Google's verification interstitial is the common failure. It appears for behaviour as well as for address, so a good IP paired with a fast, uniform request pattern still gets challenged.

Where the location changes the answer

Country targeting is the baseline and city targeting is where local SEO lives. Confirm the exit address with a lookup before trusting any comparison.

Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.

Setup

How to route Google through a proxy

Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.

  1. 1

    Generate an endpoint

Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.

  2. 2

    Point Google traffic at it

Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.

  3. 3

Verify the exit before you trust the data

Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your Google request.

Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
