What people use TikTok proxies for
TikTok's feed is the most region-sensitive of the major platforms: the same account sees a materially different set of videos depending on where it connects from. That makes the address part of the measurement, not just a way around a block.
Mobile addresses are the natural fit, since the overwhelming majority of real viewing is on a carrier connection.
- Read the For You and Discover surfaces as a viewer in a specific market.
- Check whether a creative or campaign is visible in its target country.
- Run several of your own accounts on separate addresses.
Why TikTok answers differently from a hosting address
What makes it awkward
Region is inferred from more than the IP, and a client that reports a different timezone or locale contradicts the address. Keep the two aligned or the region signal is inconsistent.
Where the location changes the answer
Country-level targeting is usually the right granularity. TikTok's content pools are national, so a city-level address rarely changes what you are served.
Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.
How to route TikTok through a proxy
Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.
- 1
Generate an endpoint
Open your Mobile product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.
- 2
Point TikTok traffic at it
Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.
- 3
Verify the exit before you trust the data
Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your TikTok request.
Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
