What people use ASOS proxies for
ASOS serves a separate storefront per country with its own currency, pricing, sizing and stock. Which storefront you get depends on the address, so a check from the wrong one answers a different question.
Product pages are large and image-heavy, which makes bandwidth the second constraint after access.
- Track price and stock on a specific national storefront.
- Compare an item's price across two markets.
- Collect catalogue data for a category without fetching every image.
Why ASOS answers differently from a hosting address
What makes it awkward
Product listing pages cost a lot of bytes for a small amount of structured data. Blocking images and reading the embedded product data cuts the traffic bill sharply.
Where the location changes the answer
Country targeting selects the storefront. Confirm the exit address first, because the redirect to a storefront is the clearest signal of which market you actually got.
Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.
How to route ASOS through a proxy
Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.
- 1
Generate an endpoint
Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.
- 2
Point ASOS traffic at it
Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.
- 3
Verify the exit before you trust the data
Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your ASOS request.
Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
