What people use Glassdoor proxies for

Glassdoor holds salary reports, interview notes and reviews that are attributed to a country, and often to a metro. Pay bands in particular are only meaningful next to the market they were reported in.

Most of the useful data sits behind a login wall, so what a proxy changes is which market's public pages you reach, not whether the account gate applies.

  • Read public salary ranges and company pages for a country.
  • Collect review volume and rating trends for an employer.
  • Compare the same role's pay band across two markets.
The network is the variable

Why Glassdoor answers differently from a hosting address

What makes it awkward

The site gates most detail behind an account, and a logged-in read is a different product from a public one. Plan around the public surface and do not build a pipeline that assumes the gated view.

Where the location changes the answer

Country targeting is what selects the market's reports. City targeting refines pay bands where the sample is large enough to report at that level.

Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.

Setup

How to route Glassdoor through a proxy

Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.

  1. 1

    Generate an endpoint

Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.

  2. 2

    Point Glassdoor traffic at it

Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.

  3. 3

Verify the exit before you trust the data

Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your Glassdoor request.

Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
