What people use LinkedIn proxies for
LinkedIn gates most useful surfaces behind a login and watches the address closely. Public company pages and some profile views are readable, but the allowance per address is small and a hosting address is treated as automated before the first page loads.
A residential address and a session that behaves like a reader are what make the public read viable. It is not a way around the login wall, and it should not be used as one.
- Read public company pages and job listings from a specific country.
- Check how a company page renders in a target market.
- Collect public listing data for market research at a measured rate.
Why LinkedIn answers differently from a hosting address
What makes it awkward
The most common failure is not the address but the pace: LinkedIn treats a fast sequence of profile views as collection regardless of where it originates.
Where the location changes the answer
Job listings and company pages are localised by country, which makes geo-targeting the difference between a market's listings and a mixture of several.
Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.
How to route LinkedIn through a proxy
Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.
- 1
Generate an endpoint
Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.
- 2
Point LinkedIn traffic at it
Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.
- 3
Verify the exit before you trust the data
Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your LinkedIn request.
Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
