What people use Discord proxies for
Discord's API is well documented, and most legitimate automation belongs on it with a bot token rather than through a proxy. The proxy case is narrower: keeping the client's own address separate from your other traffic, and running accounts you are authorised to run without them sharing a connection.
The gateway connection is long-lived, so a session that holds one address for hours is what the protocol expects.
- Separate a bot or client's outbound address from your other services.
- Give each account you manage its own connection.
- Reach the API from a stable address when the default one is rate-limited.
Why Discord answers differently from a hosting address
What makes it awkward
Discord uses a WebSocket gateway alongside REST. The proxy must hold the connection open for the session, which is exactly what a sticky endpoint does and a rotating one does not.
Where the location changes the answer
Location rarely changes what the API returns. Targeting here is about address separation rather than about seeing a different market.
Country, region and city targeting are set per endpoint in the generator, and geo-targeting explains how narrow to go.
How to route Discord through a proxy
Three steps, and the same three on every target in this section, because the product works the same way each time.
- 1
Generate an endpoint
Open your Residential product, go to the Proxy tab, pick the protocol and sub-user, and set the country you need. Copy the endpoint in URL format.
- 2
Point Discord traffic at it
Pass the endpoint to whatever makes the request: a proxy flag, a client setting, or a proxy field in the tool. HTTP is accepted everywhere; SOCKS5 is there when a client insists on it.
- 3
Verify the exit before you trust the data
Check the endpoint, read the exit IP, and look up its country and ISP. Do this before a run, not after: a silent bypass and a working proxy look identical until you read the address behind your Discord request.
Generating endpoints is covered field by field in Generating Proxy Endpoints, and every format the dashboard can copy is in Proxy Formats and Exports.
